For individual message or mailbox recovery, AppAssure Software and Microsoft Storage Solutions have partnered together to deliver MailRetriever for DPM, enabling Microsoft Exchange administrators around the world to gain efficient and economical access to message-level recovery.

MailRetriever for DPM is an affordable and easy-to-use software package for browsing, recovering, searching, exporting, and analyzing e-mail and mailbox content from Microsoft Exchange. MailRetriever integrates directly with DPM so that you can open data stores directly from a recovery point and restore messages, mailboxes, calendar items, tasks, notes and more. With MailRetriever and DPM, you are never more than just a few clicks away from recovering a message or mailbox.

MailRetriever opens any EDB from a DPM recovery point and searches mailboxes, messages, calendars, tasks, notes and folders. The results can be restored to the original location, a recovery folder, or exported to a PST file for portability in just seconds. Browse and search the entire EDB or just a specific mailbox to locate any items (messages, tasks, calendars) and then perform a simple restore.

MailRetriever quickly identifies messages related to e-discovery requests. Simply search for messages containing a keyword, phrase or username, and MailRetriever scans the entire EDB for messages that meet the selected criteria. The results can then be exported to a folder or PST which satisfies the “native file format” requirement for legal and compliance e-discovery. With MailRetriever, you can view a message’s contents, including all of its attributes. Additionally, you have access to calendar items, tasks, notes and more.

MailRetriever integrates directly with DPM’s recovery points for fast and easy message-level restores and recovery. Simply select the DPM recovery point, locate your messages with the browse and search utility, and MailRetriever does the rest.

MailRetriever requires less disk space for message-level recovery and eliminates the need to stand up a separate server. Additionally, MailRetriever reduces the number of days messages need to be stored in the transport dumpster.
